Beautiful painting! I especially love the trees and lighting in the background! Two crits: 1) The grass appears a bit too green for the lighting, especially compared to how the leaves appear. 2) The background seems more realized than the foreground. Perhaps some more details to the river in the foreground (esp the bank) and something additional on the left would make it even better.
I am not being mean. I'd just like to share my opinion of the things you've pointed out. 1. It does say 'mystic forest' I think the verdant grass add to this ideal greatly. 2. I think the background draws the eye ahead and since there is really nothing of importance in the foreground there really isn't a reason to be bent up over lack of sharp detail there.
Not saying it's without its flaws but this piece pays attention to lighting and the calmness of the water so I would give slack in those areas.
This has to be my favourite of the three, though I can't really decide why... something just makes me like it better.
Methinks there should be more places like this in the real world, not just in paintings and stories... knock down a few high-rises and skyscrapers and replace them with trees... it all happens eventually, it has to. *muses*
I think it's like the 'nicest', but that's a kinda... crappy word for it. *is having a blonde moment* Yes, it's slightly girlie, but I wouldn't say exceptionally. Hopefully it's reassuring that I am a girl, and that should back up said theory.
*reads what I just wrote* That makes no sense. Ignore it.
...you... don't... have... broadband? Wi-Fi I can live without, but... yikes.
yea, I have satellite internet(which they 'claim' is broadband, but I can tell you for sure...it is NOT). It pretty much sucks...in fact it is about to rain here so this message may not even make it to you because my internet is going to cut off any second now.
Good. Because if you were upset that I liked it, one or the other of us (probably you) would have a problem.
The message has clearly made it, as I am able to reply to it, but... your satellite can't be a lot worse than what we have here. On my recent visit to the US, I figured out that A) your internet is SO MUCH FASTER than ours and B) it's a lot less restricted. And that was on hotel internet with millions of firewalls. Broadband internet here goes at a snail's pace, and dial-up is worse... I don't know how New Zealand actually manages to run itself (pfft, that's a good one... IT DOESN'T >_<)...
