Im pretty sure places like this in fantasy stories don't even have indoor plumbing however :/

This piece is lovely. The shape and draw of the steps leading into this place of presence and warning. Beyond the doors, where I am forced to imagine what's beyond, I feel my heart quicken with wonder. This is what I see in my mind when I'm reading a wonderful fantasy book.

Are you into modern fantasy at all? Have you read The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher? Along with Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, I read them back to back. So awesome to get a scope and see both ends of the fantasy spectrum.
